Royal Exterior wood preservative is easy to apply and although it is technically a wood stain, it has an almost paint like consistency. Royal Exterior is a high-build formulation so each extra coat increases the colour density and sheen. 2 coats will give great weather-proofing protection but on lighter shades a 3rd coat may be desired to increase the solidity of colour. If 1 coat is to be applied for a translucent look, apply Royal Exterior Clear* on top to produce a harder surface finish. *Please note: We do not recommend that you only use a clear finish without a tinted stain coating first, be it Protek Royal Clear or from any other manufacturer, within 12 – 24 months you will see black marks and uneven colour changes across your wood due to UV light burning lignin in the wood.

We have calculated the required quantity for each of our cabins and the price of this is detailed on each individual cabin page. The price includes Wood Preserver++ which is applied before the Royal Exterior top coats.

Cabins do not come pre-treated and painting is not included in the installation price. It is essential that you apply a wood preservative treatment to your summer house or garden building after assembly.
