Liquid Wood Preservative & Stain (supply only)

It is essential that you apply a wood preservative treatment to your summer house or garden building after assembly. Beware though, not all wood preservatives available to buy are made equal! We supply Protek Wood Preserver ++ and Protek Royal Exterior Finish when you add preservative to your order and can be assured that you are protecting your cabin with a market leading wood preservative.

All Protek products are water based which means they are totally non-hazardous to children, pets, wildlife and the environment. With low to no odour they are far more pleasant to apply than oil based finishes but are just as effective. We have individually calculated quantities for each of our cabin models and send you the right quantity to fully protect your cabin.

Wood Preserver++ is applied first and penetrates deep in to the wood to stabilise it and inhibit mould, rot and insect infestations. Then 2 – 3 coats of Royal Exterior Finish, depending on stain and desired finish  is applied.

The high-quality exterior wood finish features an extensive range of colours that are ideal for classic, contemporary and modern designs. The exterior range has been specially designed to give a long lasting protective coating with a soft lustre. Both translucent and opaque finishes are available.

Sample Pots can be ordered online here. Please note that we do not advise only using Royal Exterior Clear Finish only as a top coat. This is because UV light burns the wood and your cabin will develop grey and black mark patches. This will happen with all brands of clear finish. A tinted stain should be used first and then a clear top coat.

*Please note your cabin will come untreated accept for foundation beam and decking board timbers which are factory pressure treated. Preserving / painting your cabin is your responsibility and should be done as soon as possible after assembly. Painting your cabin is not included in the price of the wood stain nor a service Summerhouse24 offers.
