Choosing Your Harvia Sauna Heater

All our Fjord-series saunas can be fitted with a Harvia electric heater. We offer five models from the Harvia Cilindro range. They share the same design and build quality and differ mainly in two things: heating power and whether they can be controlled over Wi-Fi. Use the short guide below to find the heater that fits your sauna, your climate and your home’s electrical supply.

How to choose the right heater

1. How big is your sauna, and how cold are your winters?

A heater’s power (kW) decides how large a room it can heat and how well it copes with the cold. More power heats a bigger cabin and reaches temperature faster in winter. If you live in a warmer climate, or mainly plan to use the sauna in spring and summer, a lower-power heater is enough. Each heater below shows its recommended room volume in cubic metres (m³).

2. What electrical connection do you have?

The PC90 and PC110 models require a three-phase (400V) connection. The PC70 models can run on either a three-phase or a standard single-phase (230V) supply — but on single-phase the sauna takes longer to reach its operating temperature. Check what supply you have (or ask your electrician) before choosing. All heaters must be installed by a qualified electrician.

3. Do you want to control the sauna from your phone?

The “XW” models — the PC70XW and PC90XW — include Wi-Fi. You can switch the sauna on, set a timer and adjust the temperature from the free MyHarvia app (iOS and Android), so it’s hot by the time you step in. The “XE” models use the same Xenio control panel but without Wi-Fi.

Harvia PC70XE

The most flexible choice. At 6.8 kW this heater suits smaller saunas. It is the only model that can run on a standard single-phase (230V) supply, so it fits homes without a three-phase connection. Controlled with the Xenio panel (no Wi-Fi).

Harvia PC70XW

The flexible choice, now with Wi-Fi. The same 6.8 kW heater as the PC70XE, with Wi-Fi added. Start and schedule your sauna from the MyHarvia app, while keeping the option of a single-phase connection. Ideal for smaller saunas where you’d like app control.

Harvia PC90XE

More power for medium to large saunas. At 9 kW this is a strong choice for medium and larger cabins, and for using the sauna through the winter. Requires a three-phase connection. Controlled with the Xenio panel (no Wi-Fi).

Harvia PC90XW

9 kW power plus app control. The 9 kW heater with Wi-Fi built in. Ideal for larger saunas and year-round use, with full control from the MyHarvia app. Requires a three-phase connection.

Harvia PC110XE

Our most powerful heater. At 10.8 kW this is the heater for the largest Fjord saunas. It holds 120 kg of stones for plenty of soft, even steam and heats large cabins quickly. Requires a three-phase connection. Controlled with the Xenio panel (no Wi-Fi).
