“Our objective was to completely redesign our garden, allowing us to utilise the space all year round. We found a potentially suitable structure, but it wasn’t until our first conversation with Summerhouse24 that we realised there was so much more opportunity.

Summerhouse24 enabled us to make significant, personal modifications to an existing Summer House design: ‘Super Jacob E’.

This meant we could achieve a larger sized veranda for alfresco cooking & dining as well as a cosy, enclosed garden room that we could retreat to – whatever the weather.

We knew exactly what colours and internal design we were aiming for and as soon as the cabin was built, we realised the dream would become a reality. Decoration, furniture and lighting was further complemented by a bespoke, matching BBQ cabinet built (by our neighbour) using off-cuts from the original build.

We are so proud of what we achieved and one-year on we continue to enjoy the incredible benefits this has brought us, and still lovingly refer to the summer house as ‘Jacob’!”

Looking at ‘Jacob’ today, it’s easy to see why this bespoke summer house has become such a cherished addition to the garden. The dark exterior cladding creates a striking contrast against the natural greenery, while the warm wooden interior establishes an inviting atmosphere that draws you in.

The space functions beautifully in ways that showcase thoughtful design and planning. During daylight hours, the interior bathes in natural light streaming through the large glass doors, creating a perfect space for relaxation in the carefully chosen mint-green armchairs. The vintage Michelin poster adds a distinctive character to the wood-panelled walls – personal touches really transform a space!

This bespoke garden room truly comes into its own as evening falls. The addition of string lights across the veranda creates an enchanting atmosphere perfect for outdoor dining or evening relaxation. The choice of weatherproof rattan furniture proves particularly practical, enabling year-round use of the veranda regardless of weather conditions.

The BBQ cabinet, crafted by a neighbour using leftover materials from the build, is a thoughtful addition. It complements the garden room perfectly while being a functional part of the outdoor cooking space.

One year after completion, the space continues to reveal its versatility. From summer barbecues on the veranda to cozy winter evenings in the warmth of the garden room, this bespoke summer house has transformed the outdoor living space. It serves as both a peaceful retreat and an entertainment area and is a great investment that has significantly enhanced the property’s functionality and value.
