From Garden Room to Manufacturing Powerhouse: Superfly Soap
22.08.2025

When Anna and Russell Oxenden envisioned their dream workspace for Superfly Soap, they were looking for something special. A place that would reflect the heart and values of their business. The obvious choice was a garden room made of sustainably managed natural timber – and this is how a Summerhouse24 cabin became the home for their thriving eco-friendly soap company.
Manufacturing – the cosy way
Step inside their garden room and you’ll discover an incredibly efficient operation where every square foot has been put to good use. The beautifully organised space houses their entire production process.
When you think of manufacturing, the picture that forms in in your head isn’t necessarily characterised by the word ‘cosy’ – to say the least. That’s not the case here, though, as the chosen timber cabin is characterised by beautiful natural warmth, creating a sense of comfort and serenity.

It’s wonderful to see how every aspect of the business takes place in this compact and thought-through space:
Product development: In their dedicated workspace, Anna carefully measures and blends ingredients, creating new formulations. The wooden shelving system maximizes storage while maintaining the cabin’s natural aesthetic.
Handmade excellence: The heart of their operation features a pristine workspace where Anna methodically makes their signature products. Every item is handmade with care, reflecting their commitment to quality and sustainability.
Quality control & organization: Their beautiful inventory management system showcases hundreds of beautifully organised colored soap bars. The systematic approach ensures consistency and quality across their entire product range.
Packaging & dispatching: Products are carefully packaged and prepared for shipping, maintaining their plastic-free commitment right through to the customer’s door.
A flexible workspace

What makes garen rooms special is how they can often evolve to meet growing business needs, while maintaining their charm and functionality. It’s easy to change the interior based on the flow of the current.
Large windows flood the space with natural light, creating an inspiring environment for creativity and craftsmanship. The timber construction provides the perfect backdrop for their natural, eco-friendly brand values.

“We have made full use of our cabin and it’s now a manufacturing powerhouse for our little soap company!” Anna explains. “Everything takes place within the cabin, from product development to the making of the skincare, soaps and conditioner bars, right down to final packing and dispatch.”
Customers also appreciate the flexibility of these structures. Contemporary garden room Eva D can easily be used for leisure activities or any other purpose if the owners ever decide to sell their property or make changes in the business’s operations.
Sustainable values in action
Superfly Soap’s commitment to handmade, eco-friendly, plastic-free, and vegan can be seen in all parts of their operation. Choosing a garden room made in the traditional log cabin style is an important part of their mission to create beautiful, environmentally conscious products.
Using a timber cabin is not just environmentally conscious – since timber has a much lower CO2 footprint compared to concrete, for example – it also makes a great impact on the energy of the room. There is no way to understate the value and positive energy that is created from health-friendly environments where one spends their days at. All of these overflows into the business – and the world. Working in the cabin, Anna feels it every day and so do the customers.

The evening shots of their cabin, warmly lit and nestled among the trees, capture the magic of a business that has found its perfect home. String lights twinkle against the wooden exterior, creating an inviting atmosphere that speaks to the passion and care that goes into every product they create.
Inspiring the next generation

What makes this story even more heartwarming is seeing the next generation getting involved. Anna works alongside her daughter, both wearing their Superfly Soap aprons, passing on the values of craftsmanship, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. It’s a beautiful reminder that some of the best businesses grow from family passion and dedication.
The Oxendens have created something truly special and we are honoured to be part of their story.
