We have installed and insulated another Garden Room D log cabin for our customer Mr Davids. This large garden room with massive 70mm walls has 38m2 of inner area and is widely used as a snooker room, fitness room, office, dining room at camping sites and country clubs or as a conference room.

Our customer used a local building company for laying down concrete pad. Then our fitters completed the cabin installation together with insulating the floor and roof as well as installing roofing shingles within only two days. For floor and roof insulation we used 25mm thick Celotex insulation boards. Besides keeping the cabin warmer during winter months, it also protects from UV and keeps the cabin cooler in summer time. Our fitters install the insulation on top of the 18mm roof boards and then finish with a layer of OSB boarding on to which they fix the bitumen Icopal roofing shingles. These roofing shingles have a 15 year factory guarantee but will last and protect the roof for 25-30 years and even longer.

Total budget of building this cabin was £12,950. Costs that we involved were following:

Standard cabin kit of this and all the other 70mm log cabins, includes: prefabricated double tongue and groove wall planks, double glazed doors and windows, internal doors, 94mm foundation beams, 28 mm floor boards, 18 mm roof boards, metal rods for inserting into walls for extra strength as well as all screws, nails and fixings. All wooden components are made of slow grown Nordic spruce.
