We recently had the pleasure of completing a bespoke outdoor living project for a client in the prestigious hills of Benahavis, Marbella. The commission involved the installation of a nearly 40 m² garden log cabin alongside an expansive 80 m² wooden terrace – together creating a striking multi-purpose retreat that blends seamlessly with the property’s natural surroundings.

Project highlights

Our team supplied and assembled the popular Garden Room B cabin kit, chosen for its clean design and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame panoramic views of the Mediterranean landscape. The package included:

• Full insulation for year-round comfort
• Anthracite and silver-grey wood preservatives for lasting protection
• Premium roofing felt and weatherproof finishes
• Over 300 metres of pressure-treated timber for strength and stability
• High-quality decking boards for a durable, natural look
  

Build process

Foundation & framework: We engineered a raised wooden frame on concrete blocks, carefully designed to accommodate the natural slope while ensuring perfect alignment between the cabin and terrace.

Cabin assembly: Inside, the cabin features dramatic exposed beam ceilings with darker structural accents. Both roof and floor were fully insulated, and all surfaces were treated for weather resistance and longevity.

Terrace construction: The wraparound deck is the true showpiece, extending the living space outdoors. Positioned to capture sweeping mountain views, it integrates effortlessly with the landscaped hillside.

Interior design

The cabin now houses two functional zones:

Home gym: Equipped with Concept2 rowing machines, adjustable dumbbells, and specialist flooring in premium rubber.

Office & workspace: A modern, light-filled area with built-in shelving, ergonomic furnishings, and dedicated task lighting.

Final touches

Outside, the warm timber tones contrast wonderfully with the dramatic Benahavis backdrop. On the inside, the cabin balances practicality with natural charm, proving that a multi-use space can be both stylish and functional.

The full garden gym fit-out and specialist flooring were completed by John Peter Fitness, ensuring professional installation to the highest standard. The result is a beautiful outdoor living and fitness retreat that elevates both the owner’s lifestyle as well as the property value.
